Total seaborne trade with CAFTA has increased by 35.0 percent and imports from CAFTA countries have increased by nearly half since last year.
Trade between Houston and the countries of CAFTA totaled over $1.3 billion in 2004. Exports to CAFTA accounted for 70.3 percent of the total.
Dominican Republic was the top seaborne trade partner in the region, accounting for 29.0 percent of Houston’s seaborne trade with CAFTA.
